"Of all the Inner Senshi, I'd have to say that
good ol' Mako-chan is the toughest! She's also the nicest, and the most generous, too. She loves to
cook, and she's willing to share, which is more than enough to make me happy! My friend Makoto hates
bullies, and she's got the moves to take care of anybody who gets on her bad side, so it's usually better
not to pick on any of her friends (ya hear THAT, Rei?). Mako-chan wasn't always so nice and
sweet... a few years ago, she used to be part of a street gang, and even smoked! She gave that
all up, though, when she transferred to Juuban Junior High, and met the girl who was going to change her life...
me! Mako-chan's parents died when she was younger, so she lives all by herself in an apartment complex here in
the Juuban ward of Tokyo. These days, she goes to Juuban High School with most of the rest of us. Like I said
before, she's really nice and sweet, but sometimes she'll get all moony-eyed and start chasing after some guy, if she thinks
he looks like her old sempai... I'll tell you, I've never met the guy, but he must look like everybody!"

When transformed into Sailor Jupiter, Makoto
Kino appears to have enhanced strength, speed, and agility, in addition to a number of magical attacks.
Her powers seem mainly connected to the element of lightning, although several of her attacks, such as
the Jupiter Oak Evolution, are also plant-based. She was the second-last of the Inner Senshi to
join Sailor Moon, and the last of the Inner Senshi to discover her powers. Of all the Senshi, she appears
to be the strongest physically, both in and out of uniform. An accomplished and skilled martial artist, Sailor Jupiter uses no
weapons in battle.

Makoto Kino is the Sailor Senshi of the planet Jupiter. In Roman
mythology, Jupiter was the ruler of the gods, and wielded the thunderbolt as his weapon. It is of note that
Jupiter is classifed astronomically an outer planet, not an inner planet, and thus Makoto should
technically be considered a member of the Outer Senshi.

Makoto Kino's japanese voice actor, or seiyuu, was
Emi Shinohara. Shinohara is also known for her roles in other popular anime, such as Panther in
